Sherry and I really love and appreciate this perspective, Heather! Truly LISTENING and RESOLVING ISSUES should be at the heart of ALL political endeavors…. sadly lacking in the entire process of government today! Our Founding Fathers had much more of this ethic than our current day political establishment could ever muster!

Be careful….. This Divinity School mentality may rub off on you so much to the point that you will find it difficult to ever leave such a neat, protective, self-warming environment! Just too bad the rest of the world/society can’t recognize the benefits……

Good for you Heather, I think we all get into that mode now and then, but you are fortunate to have people and two daughters to help you out of that slump. I am glad your life is picking up and that you are moving on. I still miss you in choir, and probably always will, but couldn’t be happier that you are so blessed with what you are doing. Thanks Marcie. I went to a Presbyterian church for a while and didn’t really find that much difference. I don’t remember the topic of predestination every being preached on. I think most people are probably not really aware of the beliefs behind the church they attend. We all sign up for the fun small group studies, but I would think one on the history of the church would be a hard sell!

Wow, thanks. Loved the post and what you shared of the class perspective. As an entusiastic talker, I definitely took a hit on most of the listening persepectives.:(
As a Methosidst who will always be a Methodist, having worked in a Presbyterian church for 11 years and now attending one ( I do not knwo what my problem is, but I have learned a lot), it was interesting to read your statement that Calvin’s ideas came from a place of humility. While I dont agree in general with ‘election’ either,that was most interesting to read. Thanks for sharing. You have insprired me to read a little more abtou him.

Thank you for the encouragement! Little did you know I was feeling discouraged about my writing because I was feeling like I was writing in a vacuum. Thank you for reminding me that sometimes I don’t get to see what God does with my gifts. And when we FIGHT the frump, we are being good stewards of the body God has blessed us with!
