Good luck in your travels Heather, and I’m sure this will clear your head. I believe you know what you want and don’t want in life now, so go get it. You are a great gal who has made mistakes in life just like all of us have, so don’t beat yourself up about it. To err is human………and all that jazz. I don’t know how I happened upon this page. It was strictly by accident; however, once here, I read your post on the passing of your friend, E.C. and I sit here with tears streaming. The experience taught me to resent those pastors who finish their sermons by, like, Tuesday. How do they do that? Friday is the day to work on sermons… and into Saturday.

Thanks Brent. Yes, I’ve heard that part time is nonexistent in ministry! I’m looking forward to it, though. In some ways, I think I work more efficiently when I’m busy.

Congratulations! I was a student pastor (living with my family in a parsonage) when I was at Candler. It’s the best experience for a pastor—although I now wince at the mistakes I made back then! I’m guessing your student appointment is “part-time,” right? Don’t believe it. You now have two full-time jobs. But you’ll be great.
